The news is exciting that the fabled Honresfeld Library has emerged from myth and obscurity to reveal its extraordinary treasures.

• Jane Austen fans have much to be excited about, too, with the auction featuring an early handwritten letter sent by the famed author to her sister, Cassandra. It was written by Jane on the evening before a ball, where she was expecting to be proposed to. 
• There are also first editions of Austen’s most renowned works, Pride and Prejudice, Emma and Northanger Abbey, as well as Persuasion in its publisher’s boards form, among other artefacts.
